Kaushik Roy has spent three decades in the sphere of marketing and communication. In 1979 he started his career with Hindustan Thompson Associates (JWT), Kolkata, in the Creative Department and later moved on to become a profit centre head. Since 1990 Kaushik has held the positions of General Manager at Clarion (now Bates), Executive Director & Chief Creative Officer at Mudra Communications (DDB), and Head Corporate Brand Strategy at South Asia, Philips. In 2003, Kaushik left Mudra, a Reliance group company, and joined Reliance Infocomm as Head Branding and Marketing Communication and was responsible for the launch of Reliance Mobile, which became the biggest operator within a short span of 18 months. He is currently President, Brand Strategy & Marketing Communication with Reliance Industries Limited, and reports to the Chairman, Shri Mukesh Ambani. Kaushik has been responsible for some of India's most successful and effective campaigns such as "We also make steel" for Tata Steel, "World in your Pocket" for Max Touch launch (now Vodafone), "Let's make things better" Star Products Campaign for Philips, "Karlo duniya mutthi mein" for Reliance Mobile. Recently in 2008, he had the distinction of branding and managing the Mumbai Indians team for Indian Premier League Season 1. Kaushik has held many important industry positions such as the President of the Advertising Club Bombay, Member Executive Committee at Advertising Agencies Association of India (AAAI), Member Steering Committee at Ad Asia 2003, Jaipur. He is currently the Vice President of the International Advertising Association (IAA) India Chapter, and continues to be associated with the "Subhas Ghosal Foundation" and the "Bimal Roy Memorial Committee" as a founder member and is an active member of the Film Producers' Guild, Indian Independent Filmmakers Worldwide, and the Forum for Autism.
