This is an invitation only debate for CMO level shopper management, moderated by Craig Lodge, former GM Strategic Planning, Pick n Pay and Terry Murphy, Publisher of Marketing Mix. For some time, we have felt the need for a forum attracting senior management only where views can be exchanged about the macro issues impacting on shopper marketing over the year or so ahead. The outputs from the intense two hour debate should contribute to the convergence of strategic opinion about:
- Identification and weighting of the big issues
- Facilitating individual CMO prioritisation
- Collaborative models where appropriate
The debate will take place in Jo’burg, 8th Nov, from 16h00 – 18h00, venue being confirmed. Big issues which occur to Craig and myself:
- Consumer activation: a combination of legislation and social networking influencing shopper behaviour
- New retail models
- How will private label impact upon brand relationships
- engagement marketing
- loyalty versus value
- adapting to the realities of township life
